Sandra Seamons Estate donates generous gift to A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) – ANBAR Establishes The Sandra Seamons Society
Roy, Utah (05/05/2015) – Song Composer and noted animal lover Sandra Seamons who died last August at the age of 79 bequeathed a portion of her estate to support animal rescue organizations. Her heirs identified animal rescue groups through a thoughtful selection process. A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR), a volunteer-driven non-profit based In Roy, Utah, was one of the lucky recipients. It received a gift of $30,000 - its largest gift in the organization’s history.
The funds will be used carefully, and will reflect Seamons’s legacy of love for animals. A portion from the unrestricted donation provided the resources for ANBAR to purchase a gently-used van to transport fosters and new rescues. The remaining funds will be allocated towards operating support/reserve and to help with needed expansion plans. ANBAR is at full capacity with foster homes and at its Kitty Center in Bountiful, and in need of expansion. They hope to open a facility to centralize services, and the organization is exploring sites in the Layton-Roy-Ogden areas, once it has the funding. A New Beginning Animal Rescue operates with small donations but mostly out of pocket.
To honor Ms. Seamons and all she had done to help companion animal rescues, A New Beginning Animal Rescue has established The Sandra Seamons Society. The organization hopes that Ms. Seamons’s thoughtful gift will encourage others to make a gift that is meaningful to them – to connect their legacy with saving homeless pets, ensure a new beginning, and give them a chance to find a forever home. The Sandra Seamons Society recognizes caring individuals who have remembered A New Beginning Animal Rescue through their will or other planned gift arrangement.
ANBAR’s Founder and Executive Director Gabriele (Gabi) Johnson said, “This generous and unexpected gift will enable us to help more animals in need, and brings us a step closer to our goal of having our own permanent building. We are deeply grateful for the support and recognition that Ms. Seamons’s estate has given us. ”

About A New Beginning Animal Rescue
A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a volunteer-driven, Utah-based non-profit. Since its inception in 2008, its goal has been to thoughtfully reduce unnecessary euthanasia rates; improve Weber and Davis Counties’ animal welfare with compassion and respect through community building and public education on the mutual benefits of responsible pet parenting; and enhance the quality of life of companion animals in need of a new beginning and a forever home. ANBAR strives to ensure that each and every animal rescued is cared for; treated with compassion, respect, and dignity. ANBAR does not turn away any companion animal but welcomes them regardless of their condition, without a time limit on their stay. A New Beginning Animal Rescue believes that euthanasia should be used only as a humane last resort, to prevent further animal suffering. A New Beginning Animals Rescue has helped nearly 3,000 companion animals (kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs – and rabbits) find their forever homes.
