KITTY CAT CUDDLER - aka- Cat Socializer at KITTY CENTER (Bountiful, UT)

Kitty Center volunteer times are available seven days a week, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, at two-hour schedules.

As part of ANBAR's Kitty Center Team, you will help clean rooms, feed and socialize kittens and cats, assist in administrative tasks, and prepare the Kitty Center each day.  You help create a loving, healthy environment for our animals in the Kitty Center as you play with, pet, brush, talk to and give attention to our pets until permanent homes are found. These types of volunteers are especially needed when we take in feral cats who have had little previous contact with humans.

KITTY CAT CUDDLER -aka- Cat Socializer at PETCO (Layton, UT)

PETCO-Layton volunteer times are available seven days a week, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, at one hour schedules.

As part of ANBAR's Cat Socializer Team at PETCO-Layton, you will help clean cages, feed and socialize kittens and cats, assist in administrative tasks, and prepare the cages each day.  Create a loving, healthy environment for our animals in PETCO as you play with, pet, brush, talk to and give attention to our pets until permanent homes are found.

Volunteer photographers help take pictures of our cats in our Kitty Center (Bountiful, UT), Adoption Events, and volunteer foster homes to show them at their best. These images are crucial to ANBAR’s work and ability to share stories and gain support of the community. We ask for commitment of 6-month service, at least 2-3 hours a week, and have lots of patience to capture a good quality photo. The animals' photos will be posted on ANBAR's website, social media networks, and Petfinder. You must own your own digital camera and be able to work with deadlines to participate in the photography program. Some experience in working with animals is needed, as well as creativity and good interpersonal skills. Computer skills and Photo-editing a plus. Please Note: Photographs taken by volunteer pet photographers are considered works for hire and to be owned property of ANBAR. These photos may not be used for personal or commercial gain or personal use without the express written permission of ANBAR’s Strategic Planning and Development Team.

ANBAR's s looking for friendly, outgoing, animal-loving people to represent ANBAR at various table events in the Layton-Roy-Ogden area throughout the year. Community Outreach & Education Volunteers answer questions about the work we do at ANBAR, hand out educational material and tell people about our initiatives, programs, and upcoming events. These volunteers are advocates for the companion animals and help educate the community on the importance of such issues, as the intrinsic value of adoption/rehoming over buying a pet; pet homelessness; spay/neuter; responsible pet ownership; and no-kill movement (euthanasia as a last humane resort).

In 2015, ANBAR will begin promoting public awareness about pet adoption and the homeless pet population. Volunteers may be asked to help pack and set up table materials. This is a great opportunity to learn more about key issues that impact not only the companion animal homeless population, but society as a whole.
