Applying To Adopt

Deciding to add a furry member to the family is a very exciting time. However, adopting an animal is a big commitment so we want to make sure you find an animal who will be the best fit for your family. This is why ANBAR requires a completed pre-adoption application before adopting. Following the submission of your pre-adoption application, one of our team members will reach out to you for the next steps. The final adoptive home of an animal is chosen based on the best fit. If there are multiple applications for the same animal, our policy is to carefully screen all of our adopters based on their pre-adoption questionnaire answers. This helps us select the best match not only for the animal, but for your family as well. Once you have been approved there is a final adoption application which must be completed. We then advise you read through the "before you adopt" section on our website to help prepare you and your family to bring home your newest member of the family! What Are The Adoption Fees? Our adoption fees range from $40-$275 depending on if you adopt a cat or dog, the age of the animal, and their medical background. In addition to the standard medical care, some of our animals also receive life-saving surgeries, diagnostics, medicines, or dentals. Your adoption fees go directly into the care and rescue of additional animals in this all-volunteer organization. Fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable. Please direct any questions to our adoption team at info@anbrescue.org. Adoption fees are used to cover the cost of caring for our adoptable animals. Prior to adoption, our animals are microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccinations, and dewormed. In addition to all of the basics, the adoption fee also includes any additional medical treatments that may have occurred while the animal is in rescue. Examples of medical issues include: respiratory infections, skin conditions, orthopedic consultations and surgery, neonatal care for babies, among others. Our goal is to save as many lives as we can by finding every animal we rescue a new beginning with a forever family. When you adopt, you become a part of that journey and mission, so we thank you for choosing to rescue!
